Well what a surprise lay in store for me when I arrived at Grannie Annies for the knitting group, a gentleman had been in and left a donation of £10 for yarn to knit more items for the baby unit it fair brought a tear to my eye it just goes to show that even in this economic climate there are still people out there willing to "give2 also thanks to Carol (Grannie Annies owner) for donating the fee yet another £10 for the yarn.
On Saturday (3rd March) I went to Hejhogs at 60 Pasture Road, Goole to purchase the yarn - I bought the following:
- 2 100g balls Cornflower
- 2 100g balls Blue
- 2 100g balls Pink
- 2 100g balls Turquoise
- 2 100g balls White
- 2 100g balls Cream
I also had a donation of 24 pairs of knitting needles in sizes 4mm, 3.75mm, 3.25 / 3.5mm and 3mm, some of which were new, I have made 2 needle rolls to keep them in!! Really pleased with that donation as needles can cost anywhere from £2.35 upwards :)
A warm welcome was also in store for Mrs Thorpe our latest "knitter", and finally our next meeting will be at Grannie Annies on Friday 16th March 2012 7pm til 8.30pm but for anyone who can't wait there will be a meeting at Eastoft Village Hall on Wednesday 7th March 2012 6.30pm til 8pm
Until then folks - Keep Knitting!!
